Advertising

Potential Advertisers: Please read all the way through.

There is definitely some controversy in the advertising arena in regards to blogs. Some believe advertisements cheapen the credibility of the blogger. It might change what the blogger is saying. So I made this page to be up front about why I choose to advertise and what I choose to advertise.

Blogging is a way for to outlet my thoughts and to hopefully share some of my viewpoint with others who are interested. Although it is a labor of love, it certainly has its costs. Hosting specifically costs money. This is why I choose to advertise when the following conditions are correct:

  • Targeted advertising to the audience
  • Give the advertiser relevance and placement
  • Nothing obnoxious or overwhelming (tons of ads all over, popups)
  • Provide a positive conduit between audience and advertiser

In that way, I seek to create partnerships with advertisers that fit the needs in terms of revenue and relevance of advertisers to the audience my blog attracts. Nothing more. You won’t see me maximizing my Google AdSense placements or annoying blinky images. Right now, I only do advertisements at the end of posts and it is clearly separated from the post content. In the future, I might do something different depending on advertising partners.

As of October 2007, I have approximately 2,000-4,000 unique visitors per month and approximately 1,300 subscribers via feed readers. Most of my traffic comes from job seekers and those in the human resources industry. If you do decide that this fits your needs, please send me a proposal based on these numbers. Do not ask me my rate (I don’t want to do enough advertising to have a rate), come at me with a number you feel is fair and we’ll go from there.

If you are interested in seeking a win-win advertising situation, please feel free to contact me. Thanks.
